Recipe>
*FILLING*
1. Carrots (chopped)
2. Capsicum
3. Red, green and yellow pepper (chopped)
4. Green onions (chopped)
5. Curry powder, turmeric powder (1tsp)
6. Minced meat
7. Veg.oil.
*DOUGH*
1. Flour (1 cup)
2. Sugar (3 tsp)
3. Salt (1/2tsp)
4. Butter ( 250gram)
5. Liquid milk (1½ cup)
PROCEDURES>
*FOR THE FILLINGS* On medium low heat;
Add your veg.oil, add the onions and stir fry for 2mins
Add the red, green and yellow pepper. Stir fry for 2mins.
Add minced meat and cook for 15mins.
Add the carrots, green onions and capsicum
Add other spices (curry, turmeric and salt)
Stir and combined. Cook for 2mins
Turn off the heat and set aside.
*FOR THE DOUGH*
Get a clean bowl;
Add all the dry ingredients together (flour, sugar and salt). Mix together.
Sieve the dry ingredients and add butter. Mix and combined together.
Make a well in the middle; add liquid milk, and mix together to form dough.
Knead dough for some minutes.
Cover and let it rest for 15- 20mins
On a smooth surface; roll out the dough
Spread butter on it; and fold the dough together.
Roll out again, spread the butter
Fold both sides to form layers.
Roll out again, sprinkle some flour on the surface
Fold both sides.
Put in a bowl; cover and let it rest for 10-15mins
Roll out the dough (thickness should be ½ inch)
Use a meatpie cutter or small round plate (cut and arrange on a tray)
Add 2tsp of the filling on the dough
Apply milk (liquid) round the edges.
Fold and press it; close the edges firmly.
Use a folk to seal round; give it that Meatpie signature
(do the same for rest dough; brush dough with beaten eggs before baking)
Bake in a preheated oven for 20-25mins
*Or* until turn’s brown.
